Teaching method With the teaching methods: Play based learning, Scaffolding Instruction, diverse activities according to schedule, combined with learning by projects of teacher and children, ICK Bi-lingual Program uses English as a second language to teach, different from the traditional method of teaching English. Learning through context helps children quickly grasp the vocabulary, positively respond and build love with new language. The Bi-lingual program focuses on developing 6 Singapore learning objectives: Language and Literacy, Motor Skills Development, Numeracy, Social and Emotional Development, Aesthetics and Creative Expression, Discovery of the World. Highlights of the program: Multicultural environment, multiple languages for children in the preschool-aged group. - Vocabulary: From 2-4 years old, a child's vocabulary increases 5 times (from 300 to 1.500). This shows the quick language absorbability of children from very young age. When they learn through context, activities, exposure to native language and use English, children will quickly grasp new vocabulary. Offering Bi-lingual program, ICK commits after 1 year, children's English vocabulary will at least equal to the Vietnamese vocabulary. - English absorbability: Bi-lingual Program equipped children with knowledge and skills to have a good start in primary school, especially English ability. Every child has different language absorbability. On average after about 3-4 months, all children can respond to teacher’s requests: stand up, sit down, line up make a circle, go to the toilet ... Getting acquainted with new languge in this age is the best condition to practice Listening Skills - The first Skills of 4 Skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing. This is the background for children to learn new language. - Social skills: Beside 6 Singapore learning objectives, ICK Bi-lingual Program also train the Preschool-aged children other impotant social skills.
